Wanna check my mail with me?

I really enjoy reading about fellow blogger's days. What can I contribute towards this?
A trip to Emily's mailbox.
Aren't you breathless with anticipation?
I'm telling ya...riveting stuff.
Come with Rachel, Beth, Lucy and me...(Lucy is the one with 4 legs.)

The first order of business this spring is to pave our driveway. I plan on shaking the money tree to achieve this. (No, I didn't say that I was going to shake my money maker...Re-read please).
We stop and fed carrots to the neighbor's horse.

Say 'Cheese' Beth.
This hill looks fine going down...coming back up? notsogood.

Now we go UP another hill.
Yeah, we're not there yet...See the road? No, of course not.

Why can't my kids EVER...EV-EEEEEEER take a good picture of me? My choices where
1) a Tush Shot
or
2)Blurred Hokey Pokey.
It's inhumane that I had to use the latter.
See how easy it is to take a cute shot?
So, go to bed tonight grateful that you don't have to walk that far to check YOUR mail. I'm thinking it's 1 mile roundtrip. I guess it helps with future tush shots.

Always look on the bright side.

Wowzers. Getting your mail is an EVENT. I'd be waiting for Postal Jim to bring it in on his way home from work.

Yes!! I want to live down that LOOOONG lane!! Please, can I come live with you? I would walk out and get the mail every day for you, I promise! (Except for the days I don't feel like it, of course, then I agree that Postal-Jim should get it when he comes home.) That lane would be great for riding bikes :) Or shrinking the tush :P I totally love it! Are you the only one down that lane?

What a pretty walk! My mail would collect in the box, and I am sure and we would pick it up only when it is bursting at the seams!

Postal Jim-HA! Love it.

Thanks for giving us the tour of your driveway, so fun!

I think I'd be teachin' lil Lucy how to retrieve the mail all by herself. :)

Sheer loveliness! :)
Hokey pokey Emily looks like skinny Emily...and that's not the blurriness. Keep up that walking and your size 8 jeans will be too big for you! ;)

Postal Jim...teehee!

If you keep that up you'll be able to run it soon!
What a wonderful walk...well when your not all cold and wet. ;)

The blury pick isn't that bad. You look great! No need to be to hard on yourself. :D

Off to see if I can manage a bag out of that fabric...I will let ya know if it worked out of course. ;)

Have a fabulous day!!

lovely walk. enjoyed going on that with you.

I would personally LOVE to have a driveway like that. Are you seriously going to pave it? I wouldn't... dirt lanes have so much character. Get some gravel to keep the mud down. Let excavator Jim get a skid steer as a toy and he can keep it all smoothed out.

all that to check your mail?

actually, I might kind of like it.

Wow - that is a loooooooooong way! I'm thinking you might need a money forest, not just a tree, to pave that! Such a beautiful walk! And I agree with the Postal Jim thing (haha - I almost typed Gem - I have a friend whose DH's name is Jim and he's such a great guy, her online pals have resorted to calling him Gem).

My driveway is only the part in the first photo...the rest is the private road that I don't own. :) So, no forest needed for paving.

Wow. So I'm thinking that if the kids are driving you nuts one day and you just need a half-hour to yourself, you could tell them all to go get the mail.

(And you could mark it down as PE.)

Btw, when I saw the tile, I thought you were going to, you know, go through your mail with us. "And here's the gas bill, and this one's a credit card application, and Oh look! A Christmas catalog from Target!"

This was *much* better.

Not feeling all that bad for you Em. It's BEAUTIFUL! Just don't do it after dark! ~K

PS. I TAGGED YOU!

From Sundy:

Very beautiful...thanks for sharing!

May I say, since no one else has yet -- "Uphill....both ways!" ^o^

When I was much younger, we really did have an "uphill-both-ways" walk to our library...had to walk up the mile-long hill and then down the other side to get there.

Beautiful driveway...lovely scenery...nice time with your kids (and dog). Lucky you ...the mail comes 6 days a week...that's some good exercise and wonderful family time.

Who knew that getting the mail was so good for you.

I think I'd ride my bike.

At our last house, our neighbor's son would DRIVE to check the mail. Ummm.. yeah... that 2 acre property is SO huuuuuge, how could anyone possibly walk it?!
